PsychOdyssey TV welcomes Carol Kivler, teacher, coach, executive, mother, and now author of Will I Ever Be The Same Again, the account of her own psychodyssey. When nothing else worked to address her severe treatment-resistant clinical depression, Carol reluctantly accepted a medical recommendation that she try electroconvulsive therapy, or ECT, aka “shock treatment”. Unexpectedly, ECT turned out to be the “silver bullet” that helped her get beyond her maelstrom. Carol sits down with PsychOdyssey TV’s Tom Pyle to talk about this saving grace, as well as the stigma associated with it. (See PsychOdyssey’s review of Carol’s book here.)
