Those with psychiatric disabilities often encounter the legal system. Although in New Jersey only Hudson County has a mental health court, the Mercer County courts are not unfamiliar with legal issues that sometimes entangle those with psychiatric disabilities. The County has one probation officer, Ms. Shauna Simmons, MSW, who is a mental health specialist.
