NAMI Mercer Advocacy Project (Mercer County, NJ)

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in the nation’s largest advocacy organization for individuals and families in the maelstrom of mental illness. Organized at the national, state, and local levels, NAMI extends and applies its grassroots influence to all issues of mental illness. At the state level in New Jersey, NAMI’s activities and influence are advanced by NAMI New Jersey.

Working closely with NAMI New Jersey, NAMI Mercer is the largest local NAMI affiliate in New Jersey. With a mandate from its Board of Directors, NAMI Mercer seeks to develop its advocacy efforts at the local level, principally in its home base of Mercer County, NJ. NAMI Mercer envisions its advocacy initiative as an opportunity to optimize the local mental health service system in Mercer County, increase and focus its representation on and through boards, agencies, and entities involved in mental illness, and offer more opportunities for involvement, engagement, and participation in local advocacy for its membership.
