Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton, is a faith-inspired social services organization, founded in 1913, with a mission to alleviate human suffering. Annually it serves more than 100,000 people in Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties with support related to housing, food, mental health, specialized childrens’ services, addiction treatment and domestic violence services. A private nonprofit organization, it is the 14th largest nonprofit in New Jersey.

Family Guidance Center/Family & Children’s Services

Family Guidance Center/Family & Children’s Services is a non-profit social service agency located in Mercer County, NJ. The agency offers outpatient mental health services, substance abuse treatment, financial counseling, housing counseling, family preservation services, and a special education school for children with behavior disorders. Family Guidance Center’s mental health services include:

  • Individual clinical assessments
  • Child, adult, group, marital and family counseling

Greater Trenton Behavioral Health

Greater Trenton Behavioral Healthcare is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization licensed by the State of New Jersey to provide mental health and substance abuse services. As a multi-service behavioral health organization, it has served Mercer County since 1981.  GTBHC develops services that fit the unique and changing needs of our clients and community, approaching each new client situation with creativity, commitment and compassion. It offers a continuum of care for both at-risk children and families and for adults. It provides:

  • crisis prevention and outreach services
  • intensive rehabilitation for mental health and substance abuse problems
  • outpatient treatment, including individual, group and family therapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication monitoring.


Jewish Family & Childrens Services of Greater Mercer County

Jewish Family & Children’s Service (“JFCS”) of Greater Mercer County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community service agency that strengthens individuals and families by empowering people to care for themselves and others. This is accomplished through a wide range of social services and programs including therapy, information and referral, support, education and advocacy. Families in need, seniors and their adult children, couples and individuals, and victims of trauma and violence receive from Jewish Family & Children’s Service competent, confidential and caring support. All members of our community are served. JFCS provides an affordable sliding scale fee structure to ensure that everyone who seeks our services can receive them. JFCS’s services include:

  • Counseling and Medication Monitoring
  • Case Management and Financial Assistance
  • Secure@Home and Senior Programming
  • Prevention and Support Services


NAMI Mercer

NAMI Mercer is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and its state organization, NAMI New Jersey, serving the Mercer County area. NAMI Mercer provides education and support for individuals and families affected by mental illness, and advocate for lives of quality and respect, without stigma or discrimination. Programs include:


SERV Centers of New Jersey

SERV Behavioral Health System is a private statewide, not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization serving adults and children working to recover from and cope with a serious mental illness or developmental disability. It utilizes a continuum of services that are tailored to meet individual needs, with the goal to assist our consumers to live and work successfully in their communities. Housing and supportive services are integrated into a broad-based approach that addresses the most basic needs of each individual (food, shelter, clothing) while allowing them to safely adjust to living in the community and gradually build a more independent life.
