Co-Occurring Disorders Task Force

This task Force is convened and co-chaired by staff from both DAS and DMHS. The goal of the Task Force is to create a three to five year strategic plan that, when implemented, will articulate the vision of a co-occurring competent system of care for New Jersey.

Mental Health Planning Council

The Mental Health Planning Council consists of constituents of the New Jersey mental health community including advocacy agencies, mental health providers, consumers, family members and DMHS staff.  The role of the planning council is to be active in the oversight of DMHS planning and activities specific to the New Jersey Mental Health Block Grant.

Multicultural Services Advisory Committee

The mission of the Multicultural Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) and the Division of Mental Health Services is to address issues of quality and quantity in mental health services and staffing, and to develop a recovery oriented service delivery system which promotes education and best practice strategies that are appropriate to the lifestyles, special needs and strengths of New Jersey’s diverse minority and cultural groups.

The Statewide Consumer Advisory Committee (SCAC) is a diverse group of emerging leaders throughout the state who are experiencing recovery in their own lives.

Citizens Advisory Committee

The Council functions as a resource to the Division through which to communicate and collaborate with “consumers” in fulfilling its mission of developing and sustaining a system of client-centered care.  Members participate in meetings and/or teleconferences and on subcommittees as necessary as a means to consult with DAS on the development of policies and procedures to be more client-centered and recovery oriented.

Professional Advisory Committee

The purpose of the Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) is to make recommendations pertinent to substance use disorders and addictions to the Commissioner of the Department of Human Services (DHS) through the Division of Addiction Services (DAS).
